A mayor decision for this project was the renovation and transformation of the former crypt into a hub called the "International Center". It has become the home for Malta Microfinance, Blue Door English (BDE), African Media Association Malta (AMAM), The Foodbank Lifeline Foundation and other activities.
"OUT OF AFRICA… INTO MALTA" was founded in 2010 and grew into a major mission project.
It has been a project of the Church of Scotland Guild Partner and churches from as far afield as Bermuda and Sri Lanka were supporting us in this work.
At the beginning we got cool-boxes and fans to relieve stifling summer conditions in the cabins of the refugee centers, quilts, blankets, and children’s clothing in the cold and damp of Malta’s winter months. These were just some initiatives we started with.
Soon after that the project developed into two further schemes, Malta Microfinance and English Language Classes for migrants which both run very successfully (see main mission page).
