(part of Out of Africa into Malta)
.... is a financial institution owned by St. Andrew’s that is licensed and regulated by Malta Financial Services Authority.
The company lends to the poor, in particular Maltese women and also refugees to transform their lives.
Our loans are repayable over twelve months, with the first repayment not due until two months after the loan is given out, an up-front fee of 10% (APR 18.6%) and no interest.
The loan (maximum is €2,500) can be used to help someone start or expand a business, rent a flat, go to college, or help them through a temporary crisis.
However, the loans must be repaid so the borrower has to demonstrate how they will afford to meet the repayments. As the loans are unsecured we rely on creating relationships of trust. We lend to solidarity groups of two to four members who support each other and maintain contact with us over the life of the loan.
MMF is based in the International Centre, underneath the
church at 212 Old Bakery Street.
